The Arbitrum Foundation has joined forces with the renowned NFT brand Azuki to establish a web3 network tailored specifically for anime enthusiasts. This collaborative effort, known as AnimeChain, aims to curate a diverse array of anime-related content, spanning original creations and offerings from third-party sources, encompassing games, merchandise, and NFTs.
Zagabond, the CEO of Azuki, underscored on social media the significance of AnimeChain in revolutionizing the creation and consumption of anime products within the web3 ecosystem. He highlighted the prevailing fragmentation within existing anime-focused projects on web3, emphasizing AnimeChain’s utilization of Arbitrum’s advanced scalability to deliver a cohesive experience to fans.
In a separate development, the Arbitrum Foundation disclosed its commitment to allocate 200 million ARB tokens, valued at $344 million, over the next two years to bolster gaming initiatives on its blockchain. Additionally, Arbitrum recently announced its financial backing of a feature film by Shane Boris, an accomplished Oscar-winning producer.
According to data from DefiLlama, Arbitrum’s Total Value Locked (TVL) surged beyond $3 billion this year. However, the ARB token experienced a significant decline of nearly 30% since reaching its all-time high in January, primarily attributed to broader market liquidation events.
