CoinGecko has rolled out a new update that enhances its API coverage to encompass 2.2 million tokens spread across 2.5 million liquidity pools. This latest development enables users to seamlessly access on-chain data from decentralized exchanges (DEXs) through CoinGecko’s API platform. With this integration, facilitated by GeckoTerminal, users can conveniently access a unified API for cryptocurrency prices, market data, and metadata. Additionally, the update includes on-chain liquidity pool data for cryptocurrencies not previously listed on CoinGecko. This expanded coverage encompasses approximately 900 DEXs across 120 networks, featuring popular platforms like Uniswap, PancakeSwap, Orca, Curve, and Balancer. CoinGecko’s paid API subscribers now have access to this data through 20 new endpoints.
CoinGecko co-founder Bobby Ong emphasized that this update underscores their commitment to providing the crypto community with comprehensive digital asset prices and market data. This announcement comes amidst ongoing developments in the decentralized finance (DeFi) space, such as Aave’s recent deployment of its lending protocol on the BNB Chain network on February 22nd. This integration is expected to enable developers on the BNB Chain network to launch applications leveraging Aave’s liquidity.
