A renowned image of a dog, famously associated with the logo of the Dogwifhat meme coin, is currently available for purchase as a non-fungible token (NFT) with a price tag of $25,000.
The individual claiming ownership of the dog, which has become emblematic of the Dogwifhat (WIF) meme coin, has initiated an auction for the iconic photograph as an NFT.
Originally named Chi-Chi but later renamed Achi, the iconic picture, which serves as the emblem for the Dogwifhat meme coin, purportedly dates back to two months after the dog’s birth on November 17, 2018.
Although the auction has been ongoing for several days on the Foundation platform, it only garnered significant attention from the cryptocurrency community on March 15, as bids soared to remarkable levels. Consequently, enthusiasts are willing to invest substantial sums, denominated in Ethereum (ETH), for ownership of an image featuring a dog adorned with a pink hat.
As of the latest update, the highest bid stands at 6,942 ETH, equivalent to over $25,600 based on prevailing exchange rates.
In a separate development earlier in March, the Dogwifhat project community successfully raised over $703,000 to showcase the dog symbol of the WIF meme coin on the screen of the MSG Sphere entertainment complex in Las Vegas.
According to reports from the Wif-sphere platform, the fundraising initiative amassed over $300,000 within the initial 24-hour period and has since surpassed the $700,000 mark.
The fervor surrounding WIF has persisted for several months, fueled by a rapid surge in price and market capitalization. Since its launch in late 2023, WIF has emerged as the fourth-largest meme coin by market capitalization. Tales of traders generating substantial profits from the token with minimal investments continue to contribute to the ongoing hype surrounding Dogwifhat.
