Over 30 veterans in decentralized finance (DeFi) security have announced the initiation of phase two for their Web3 protection initiative, SEAL-ISAC. This expansion comes following the success of SEAL 911, a Telegram bot introduced by Paradigm researcher Samczsun for real-time reporting of DeFi hacks and crypto exploits. Samczsun highlighted the wealth of information gathered by SEAL 911 since its launch, including attacker wallet addresses and hack methods.
The introduction of SEAL-ISAC aims to address the challenge of organizing and disseminating this trove of threat intelligence effectively. Samczsun emphasized the broader applicability of the ISAC concept beyond blockchain and cryptocurrency, suggesting that it could benefit various organizations involved in threat intelligence sharing. Additionally, SEAL-ISAC is positioned to collaborate with key stakeholders in the blockchain ecosystem, including the Ethereum Foundation, Chainalysis, and MetaMask.
Furthermore, SEAL-ISAC has garnered support from prominent figures such as Vitalik Buterin and venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz. This initiative underscores the growing importance of collaboration and information sharing in enhancing on-chain security within the DeFi space.
