POKT Network has expanded its decentralized infrastructure by launching three additional Gateways in collaboration with Developer DAO, Porters (supported by Raid Guild), and Chainstack.
This recent development aims to provide developers with improved access to over 60 blockchains, reinforcing POKT Network’s commitment to extending API accessibility throughout the web via its Universal RPC Base Layer.
According to a press release shared with Crypto.news, the introduction of these Gateways signifies a significant advancement for POKT Network and its ecosystem, offering reliable and cost-effective data access solutions. These solutions are poised to assist developers and enterprises in enhancing application quality and user experience.
Dermot O’Riordan, Director at the POKT Network Foundation, likened these Gateways to Layer 2 solutions, emphasizing their role in enhancing scalability and enabling builders to connect directly to a scalable and dependable decentralized infrastructure.
“By accommodating access and demand on an unprecedented scale, we are not only expanding our network’s capabilities but also laying the groundwork for a future where access to any large open data source is unhindered, secure, and universally accessible,” O’Riordan added.
Gateways enable a wide range of businesses to provide access to POKT Network’s infrastructure without the need for direct maintenance, promoting a decentralized business model. This structure aims to reduce market entry times, lower operational costs, and prioritize customer service enhancements.
Since its inception, POKT Network has significantly expanded its Gateway offerings, scaling from a single Gateway to six in just seven months, as part of a strategic effort to enhance network capacity.
Daniel Olshansky, Head of Protocol at POKT Network, explained that this strategy facilitates a division of responsibilities: protocol participants focus on infrastructure maintenance, Gateways on performance, and users on accessing reliable and affordable services.
The collaboration with Developer DAO, Porters, and Chainstack is noteworthy for its potential to drive network growth and innovation. Developer DAO, for example, plans to reinvest RPC revenues into public goods, highlighting a model where technological advancements serve the common good. Porters and Chainstack bring technical expertise and significant volume potential to the partnership.
Looking ahead, POKT Network is gearing up for the Shannon Upgrade in the summer of 2024. This upgrade aims to streamline integration for RPC providers and projects, facilitating access to data across various blockchains and AI. It is expected to support a wider range of use cases and foster collaboration within the decentralized data infrastructure sector.
